SIDEMOUNT DIVING COURSES

Diving with a sidemount configuration is truly something new for the world of recreational diving, gliding through the water in a way reminiscent of apnea diving, with greater freedom of movement, less stress on the back, and less risk of regulator failure.

The origin of this configuration is cave diving. Cave explorers worked to invent a system that would allow them to avoid back-mounted tanks and more easily negotiate tight passages.

This technique has become widely used in the last ten years, first for cave diving and now for recreational ocean diving. Sidemount configurations are no longer limited to underwater cave explorers, but are now used by many people wanting to try a different way of diving.

The sidemount configuration can be used with one tank, or up to six for cave exploration. Those wishing to advance from recreational diving to double-tank technical diving will find the transition very easy and less costly in terms of equipment, since the same sidemount system can be used for dives from 20 to 60 meters or more.
